Election Ads

With a provincial election underway, you are going to create an ad for one of the registered political parties in Manitoba.

  1. The party you pick should be one you can accually support and come up with reasons to support. .
  2. Your ad should mention at least two reasons to support the party.
    • These should not be negative reasons but positive ones. Say why you're good, not why the other guys are dumb.
  3. You need to include a few things in your ad.
    • What promises does the party make? (in other words, what rights are you entitled to.) List at least two.
    • In exchange for those promises, what does the party expect you to do? How does it expect you to live? (In other words, what are your responsibilities to the society.)

Newspaper Ad

  1. Your ad should fill most of an 8.5 by 11 inch piece of paper.
  2. You ad should be in color.
  3. It should have balance.
  4. It should have visuals (pictures or graphics) including the party logo.

Radio Ad

  1. You ad should be 60 seconds long.
  2. It should include voice, sound effects, and appropriate music.
  3. You should identify the party the ad is supporting.

TV Commercial

  1. Your commercial should be 60 seconds long.
  2. Your ad should be in color.
  3. It should include voice, sound effects, and appropriate music.
  4. It should include different angles.
  5. It should use chroma keying/green screening.
  6. The party's logo should appear somewhere at the end.
