A basic conversation

Today is a chance to try out the recording program that we'll be using this semester. You may (or may not) be familiar with Audacity.
  1. Plug in a mike.
  2. Start up Audacity and record a short conversation (about two minutes) between two people. You'll use the classic Abbott and Costello bit, Who's on First? as the conversation.
  3. Play with the controls a bit and try altering the voices.
    • Speed one up and slow one down.
    • Lower the pitch of one voice and raise the pitch of the other.
  4. Finish it off by exporting the conversation as an mp3.
    • As you try to convert your Audacity file to an mp3, the program will ask you to find a file called lame_enc.dll. This can also be found here.
  5. Easy, eh?
