Today you're going to create a text adventure using the Text Adventures website. - Once again, pick the CREATE tab.
- This time, you're going to create a TEXT ADVENTURE and not a Gamebook.
- A text adventure is a bit more complex than a game book.
- You create rooms rather than pages.
- You can go in multiple directions, including North, South, East, West, Up, and Down.
- You can also create objects to pick up and examine.
- Some objects can be opened up and be the hiding place for other objects.
- Play with the controls for a few minutes to make sure you know how the system works.
- You'll need to create a plan, map, or storyboard of your text adventure game.
- That's worth five marks and should be done IN ADVANCE.
- The site you're going to create should have at least 10 rooms.
- Each of those rooms should have at least one object which you can pick up or open.
- Each of those objects should have a description that comes up when I look at or examine the object.
- Unlike the story you made before, this is a game. Room connections can be in many directions and two way.
- In other words you need
- 10 rooms (10)
- 10 objects that can be picked up (10)
- At least 10 description so when you look at an object we find out more about it. (10)
- 5 locked doors that you have to find a way to unlock. (5)
