Text Adventures (2)

Today you're going to create a text adventure using the Text Adventures website.
  1. Once again, pick the CREATE tab.
  2. This time, you're going to create a TEXT ADVENTURE and not a Gamebook.
    • A text adventure is a bit more complex than a game book.
    • You create rooms rather than pages.
    • You can go in multiple directions, including North, South, East, West, Up, and Down.
    • You can also create objects to pick up and examine.
    • Some objects can be opened up and be the hiding place for other objects.
  3. Play with the controls for a few minutes to make sure you know how the system works.
  4. You'll need to create a plan, map, or storyboard of your text adventure game.
    • That's worth five marks and should be done IN ADVANCE.
  5. The site you're going to create should have at least 10 rooms.
    • Each of those rooms should have at least one object which you can pick up or open.
    • Each of those objects should have a description that comes up when I look at or examine the object.
    • Unlike the story you made before, this is a game. Room connections can be in many directions and two way.
  6. In other words you need
    • 10 rooms (10)
    • 10 objects that can be picked up (10)
    • At least 10 description so when you look at an object we find out more about it. (10)
    • 5 locked doors that you have to find a way to unlock. (5)
